With "1996," I wanted to convey the complexity of these moments—the way they’re filled with both connection and solitude, excitement and introspection. This painting is really about capturing that time in life, and in history, when everything feels wide open, yet nothing is certain. It’s a reminder of a different era, one where moments like these weren’t just fleeting but were deeply felt and remembered.
